Is it a disease or just simple the weather?

In Austin, you never know what to expect. Whether it be the homeless people on the street, or the weather, it's always a surprise. My favorite thing about rainy days are the outfits people wear. The latest rainy accessory is rain-boots! Where I used to live, no one wore rain-boots, but here everyone pulls them out of their closets and slips them on just for the occasion. Another thing I really like about rainy days are the umbrellas people use. They're all different colours, shapes, and sizes. I really want to invest in a cuter umbrella, but I feel like that would be a waste of money.

Photoshoot

So, before everyone parted their separate ways Crystal, Kenneth, and I went out to drive around Frisco and had a photoshoot. It was a lot of fun! We found some pretty cool places and tresspassed into a construction site to get some really neat creepy abandoned type of feel in our pictures. Here are some of them:

Hopefully we'll be able to do that again someday <3

Reunion

Dear Blogger, how I've missed you so! Now that I'm at college, I have so much spare time I should be able to update frequently. A brief overview of what happened this week? My thoughts are going to be extremely scattered. Let's see... campus is huge and it's hard to explore all the buildings. I have my TA session in the RLM building and one of the elevators looks like this!

Doesn't that remind you of those abandoned warehouses they show in scary movies? When I stepped into the elevator I felt like I could hear the chainsaw in the background, but it was just the gears working to pull the elevator up. I think my goal by the end of my 4 years here is to go into each building.

I had an interview a few days ago for ABSA. I'm applying for a director position and this is the outfit that I wore. Okay, totally not with those converses but I think that it's a cute outfit even with the shoes! It's a nice contrast of the emerald green and the pink. I like how they have full length mirrors in the business building. It's especially useful when you have to change from your normal clothes to business casual.

I went camping over the weekend and it was pretty fun. We played mafia and taboo and sang around the camp fire. It was really nice meeting a bunch of new people too! The only thing I didn't like were the bugs. No matter how much bug spray I slathered on myself I still got bit. My right leg has a bunch of new bite marks... Some of the mosquitos leave huge bumps on your legs ):

A few friends and I went downtown last weekend. It was pretty fun until we had to ride the bus back to get onto campus. It was like China. Too many people and not enough buses. I felt like I had to shove my way through the massive crowed of people to even secure a spot on the bus! After getting back on campus I realized I left my key in my friends room and she was sleeping so a bunch of us went to chill in Peter's room. We decided to have snack time instead of sleeping. I think I left at the crack of dawn... yeah... The lady at the front desk probably thinks I'm some crazy asian chick cause I never get back to my dorm before 2AM. Usually it's cause I'm at the library studying, haha.

Where art thou marching band?

Every year, first week August, I wake up at 6 am sharp, slather on that sunscreen, find my camelpak (fill it with ice and water of course), roll down my windows, put my sunglasses on, and feel the wind in my hair as I drive down to my school for band camp. It's always the same- new faces and old acquaintances gather together with one common love- music.

It's different this year. I woke up on my birthday and thought to myself, wow, this is the first year that I don't have to march on my birthday! At first I was excited, no marching band forever, but that feeling slowly faded into nostalgia. No more bus rides, no more Friday nights in that red wool coat which we call a uniform, and most of all no more laughter with my friends, making jokes about other bands and how their show can't compare to ours. Goodbye Centennial band... ):

What defines fun

Whenever I think of the word "FUN" my mind automatically goes back to a Spongebob Episode where Spongebob sings this cute, catchy song Plankton to try to define what fun was.

Photobucket
F is for friends that do stuff together. U is for you and me!

Speaking of fun, that's what I had on my adventure through town on Wednesday with Alex and Kenneth! First stop was the snowcone lady cause Kenneth's never been to the best place on the planet. Okay, many people ask me how can the snowcone lady be the best snowcone place ever? Wouldn't all snowcones taste the same cause all it is is shaved ice and some syrup. Yeah, I suppose so but seriously this is the best snowcone place ever! Not only was it a million degrees outside, but there were also a million people in line. Good thing the snowcone makes the wait worth while.

Photobucket

Next stop, where else than Del's Lemonade? I honestly think that Del's lemonade is better than snowcone lady cause it's inside and the lemonade is super delish. It's like lemonade, but it's like frozen slushy lemonade. On the tables inside you're allowed to write on them. Some person wrote this on the table. Keep in mind that this is a kids friendly enviroment. I wrote my name on the tables before, my friend Belinda wrote her name on the table too but it was a while ago.

Kenneth really wanted to go to IKEA because he wanted to buy bamboo for his dorm room. We went to IKEA, but not to buy bamboo. Since we're all going off to college this year, we had to buy dorm room stuff! IKEA had trashcans there for $2 and they also had all this stuff on sale for $.49. It was pretty fun walking around that maze which they call a store.

My next post is going to be a tirade about how much I hate Music and Arts because they ridiculously overprice things. Till then (:

Apple Addiction

I'm officially an Apple addict -____-
Everything I own technology wise has to do with Macintoshes. DAMN YOU STEVE JOBS AND YOUR SLEEK LOOKING PRODUCTS! WHY?!

My keyboard keys were getting dirty on my MacBook so that's why I went to the Apple store to buy a keyboard protecting thing. Originally I ordered one on Amazon but they messed up my order and were being difficult so I returned that. While I was at the Apple store there was a guy buying the new iPhone 3Gs. His eyes lit up when he was holding his new phone. I'm not going to lie, I was just a little envious. Because of the new purplera1n program, you can unlock all iPhones which is important to me since I use T-Mobile.

Oh, so my iPod broke again -____- It keeps randomly changing songs and starting in the middle of songs. I think it's time for me to go complain again to see if I can get a new one XD

Happy 5th

Photobucket

Yesterday was Independence Day. Like every family, we went to go watch the fireworks display. Something about watching fireworks is helplessly romantic to me. Maybe it's just the idea of laying on a picnic blanket with your significant other watching fireworks go off in the sky, or maybe it's just the smell of summer air and watching little kids run around with tattoos on their faces. It just seems so spectacular, so surreal.

Que?

Today, I went to go watch the saddest movie in my entire life. I felt like a broken faucet... couldn't stop the tears from flowing out of my eyes. My Sister's Keeper was just overflowing with sadness! Everyone in the audience was crying except for Alfonso cause he has no emotions and he's heartless! Haha, just kidding about him being heartless cause he's one of the nicest people I know but still, the movie was extremely sad. My eyes still hurt from all the crying that I did.

Photobucket
I'm so sad I'm going to jump off a building ):

Actually, Alfonso's making this game for iPhones and in the beginning it has a storyline. The pictures he drew for it are super cute! Here, he sent me one so I can show you (: If he ever finishes making this game then I'm actually going to buy it instead of just downloading it for free!

Photobucket

So, my dad's going vacay happy and wants us to go to Yellowstone National Park before I go to college. I'm really excited but sad at the same time. I'm excited cause I've never been there before and I heard it's pretty fun, but I'm sad because I leave the week that Jason gets home and I haven't seen him since June cause he's been doing DCI and then I have to leave for college like 5 days after I get home. It's just not fair.

The continuation of something mediocre

Why Hello (:

I haven't blogged in so long I actually started to miss it a little. Honestly, I didn't really feel like blogging much cause I didn't really have anything to write.

Well, it's the first day of July and June just flew by. Literally. I think this is because I'm taking Calculus over the summer because I'm like 99% sure I failed the AP test. Every morning from 8-12 I go to class. I can't wake up in the mornings. Ever. Actually, if you see me in the mornings I'm usually running to my car with a bagel in my mouth, shoes in one hand, car key in the other, speeding off to CCCC. It's almost over! Thank goodness!

Eating and driving is not dangerous at all!

So, I have an iPhone now! My friend sold me his old iPhone and I'm totally in love. It's like the the best invention since AC. I have a computer in the palm of my hand and can access anything anywhere I wish. Actually, this is the first time I've used my laptop since I got my iPhone. It's just more convenient to lay in bed with a phone than a laptop haha. At first I hated my iPhone cause the battery life was like 4 hours long, BUT it turns out that I was just an idiot and didn't turn off my PUSH notifications! SOOO, now my iPhone is like EPIC and I love it! I sold my soul to apple, lol. I have so many of their products -____-

Oho iPhone, how I love you so <3

I thought you love me (tear)

My family and I are going on vacation soon. I'm excited but not really, you know? It's like we're going somewhere but with every good thing there's a million bad things. Sitting in a car for 13 hours with two little brothers isn't exactly what I would call relaxing... I'm going to UT orientation right after South Padre so we'll see how that goes. I'm probably going to be burnt brown by the time I come back ):

Just a little something that I found on facebook that made me laugh.

Farewell Band...

Despite our mediocre performance, the Symphonic Band did amazingly well tonight. I'm going to miss Ms. Hartenberger when she leaves. After she was done conducting, she had tears in her eyes. I almost cried too because it made me realize that this was the last time I was ever going to sit on that stage and perform.

As everything comes to an end

This is officially the last week of my entire high school career! I can't believe I'm going to college next year. As cliche as this sounds, it feels like my senior year has flew right past my eyes. It's difficult for me to think about how I may never see some of the people I've spent 4 years ever again, you know? Everything is going to change.

I got hired at American Eagle! Believe me, it's really exciting. I've been wanting to work there forever because a) I purchase more clothing from there b) they pay better and c) they give way better employee discounts. I was actually kinda sad putting my my two weeks at Hollister. I've grown accustom to the loud, obnoxious music and the overwhelming scent of man. It's okay though. My managers at Hollister loved me and told me if I ever wanted to come back they'll have a place opened for me so that's always good.

"Hey, what's up"

I'm going to be super busy this summer with working and stuff. It's okay though cause it'll help me keep my mind off other things that make me sad. Lately, I've been in a melancholy mood. Hopefully I'll feel better by the time June 1st comes around (:

Updating from phone (: it's been a long week. School's almost over! I'm so excited. Summer's approaching and I need to work more to earn money. I finally quit hollister! It makes me sad a little cause i've grown attached to that place. I'm not really a fan of change but I guess I have to adapt. I'm sleepy. I miss Jason. I wish he didn't do dci but that that's selfish of me to wish that

It's the most stressful time of the year!

Last week of AP testing! I'm so excited. I'm not really even that stressed out about AP tests this year. I think it's because of my general apathetic approach to life. After this week, school is essentially over. In many of my classes, teachers are asking us what "educational" movies we would like to watch.

Oh QQ, AP tests are ruining my life.

I watched so many movies this weekend! I have no life... seriously. It helps me keep my mind off of things that I don't want to think about.

I need a roommate for UT. I hope I don't get stuck with some crazy- psycho chick. So many people suggested that Emily and I room together. I know, hilarious but not really cause it really wouldn't go very well.

Swine Flu

Swine Flu. It's the word of the week. I can't even recall how many times I've said it today! At Kumon, we mandated each kid to use hand sanitizer before they sat down and all the employees sanitized their hands constantly. I'd have to admit, I'm a little worried about contracting this "deadly virus" but I'm sure everything is going to be okay.

This morning Alfonso and I went to go eat at The Original Pancake House. He apparently got lost and spent 15 minutes trying to find the building. Breakfast was pretty good. We both got Canadian Bacon and probably contracted the Swine Flu while eating breakfast P:

After breakfast, we went to go watch Obsessed. The movie was quite fantastic! I'm a little paranoid about creepy stalkers now though... On my way back to school I got really lost and had no idea where I was going. I was afraid I was going to be late for school, but fortunately I made it before our band director got to school so I was safe (:

Omg, AP tests next week! I havn't studied for any of my tests yet! The one I'm most worried about is Calculus though... I just hope I pass (:

On a happier note, Kenneth finally finished sending me all the Saosin songs! I have the complete album now! Such a creative way to give someone an entire album (: I'm defiantly going to steal this idea and use it one day.

Untlited

And if you look a little closer, you'll see that if a person believes that life is terrible, they’ll constantly look for proof of this, to confirm their view of the world. They’ll find quotes and situations and events in their life and magnify them a hundred times.

If a person believes that life is wonderful, they’ll look for the corresponding signage and behave in a similar manner to the previous person with their view of the world.

Often, this is the same person on different days of the week

Plano Prom

I had to break into my own house this morning to get inside. Fail.

Yesterday, I went to Plano Senior's prom. It was really quite enjoyable. It's the typical high school prom- sweaty teenagers dancing all up on each other. Personally, I think the best part of prom is when you beautify yourself and go take pictures.

I didn't get to eat dinner with my group so Torre and I went to Gatti Town before our band concert. People were giving me weird looks cause I went to go eat pizza in my prom dress...

Speaking of food, on Friday we had a BBQ and it was so delish. Jordan was an excellent cook and made really yummy burgers (:

I don't feel like writing, sorry ):

Day one of bandtrip (:

After spending almost 10 hours on the bus, we finally arrived in Corpus around 7:50PM. The hotel's nice but there's only one computer and some lady was on it for like a million minutes so Alex was nice enough to let me go to her room and use her laptop. I didn't want to bring mine cause I'm super paranoid that someone's going to steal my laptop and I'd probably cry about it.

I wish I brought my card reader for my camera so I could post pictures, but I wasn't smart enough to pack it this morning. I'll probably write about our trip in a few days.

Oh, the weather here is terrible! The only good part is that our hotel is right on the beach so we can actually go outside and swim in the beach (:

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

I can now update from my phone (:

Wistful

Today has got to be the worst day ever. First, I fail my calculus test. Then, I find out that the Snowcone Lady won't be opening until Sunday and that Bliss went out of business! To top it off, it turns out that it's going to be raining in Corpus the entire time we're down there! What about the beach?

It's that time of year again! AP Tests! Hurrah. I just ordered my AP review books and it totaled up to $50. What a waste of money but I feel obligated to buy review books because I have this crazy idea that review books will improve my test scores even though there's probably no direct correlation to that at all.

Why yes, I have that smirk on my face because I know you're going to fail

So, my friend is going to be sending me a song from the Saosin album everyday. It's actually pretty exciting because I'm growing to like the band. It's different than what I typically listen too, but a change is good (:

Hectic Days

Waking up this morning was like trying to escape quicksand- impossible. I forced myself out of my warm, soft, cozy covers into the frosty air. Okay... so it wasn't that cold, but still, it was very unpleasant getting out of bed. With sleep still in my eyes, I stepped into the warm shower hoping to wake myself up and prepared myself for the day. It was just as I expected... ridiculously long. I'm already awaiting the weekends.

School is such a drag. Actually, I don't see a point in high school anymore. It's pretty much the same thing everyday. I do my 1st period homework in the morning, take a nap during my 2nd period class, eat lunch, go to band, then go home. The only thing that's irritating me are tests and quizzes. It's really difficult to make stuff up for Physics and Calculus, so it's almost impossible to pass any test.

I find that funny because whenever I feel like I did well on a Calculus test, I do awful on it too. I can't wait until Thursday! Corpus Christi here I come! <3

Hurrah

Today was such an eventful day! I spent the entire day with Jason, and surprisingly, we didn’t get tired of each other. We started off by going to w a campus visit to UTD today. UTD is nice. I’m really considering going there but my dad wants me to go visit A&M too. We drove past the tiny visitors booth twice and was late for our tour, but that’s okay. At UTD they had all these "how to deal with" pamphlets. They were hilarious.

Because I’ve been longing for sushi for two weeks now, I insisted that we go eat a sushi restaurant. We went to a restaurant called sushi loco, and I ordered a shrimp teriyaki bento box. It was satisfying and really filling too. Man, I want sushi now…

Afterwards, we just started driving around. Literally. First, we went to Stonebriar because he wanted to get his iPhone covered again because the guy who did it last time did a really poor job. Sadly, the same guy was at the booth again so he didn’t get his phone covered. Then, we were going to watch a movie, but instead we went to Willow Bend to go look for a FM transmitter thing for his iPhone. Since everything was so expensive, we decided to go to Fry’s. It took forever to find that store because we didn’t know where it was.

At Fry’s, we walked around and browsed the store for an hour. We saw these books and cans that have secrete compartments so you can hide your weed in there. It was really funny. When we were walking down the keyboard isle, there was this keyboard made especially for little kids. Surprisingly, it was really difficult to type on since the keys were bigger than the normal keyboards we use. They were also selling beer mix...

We drove to his house after because his friend Ian was over. They were playing DDR. They play DDR really well. I can’t play DDR to save my life ):
